About Me

As you might have already guessed, my name is Paula!

Currently based in Boston, I am a fourth-year neuroscience graduate student in the Princeton Computational Memory Laboratory and a Visiting Scholar in the Memory Modulation Lab at Boston College. I am driven by a desire to understand how people regulate negative emotional memories and why some people are better at dealing with negative memories than others. For my dissertation, I am looking at how memory reactivation strength might predict one’s ability to deal with negative memories. I also care about reproducibility in neuroimaging and am a core member of a group developing the Princeton Handbook for Reproducible Neuroimaging, an online reference for best practices in reproducible fMRI research. For more info about my academic side, feel free to take a look at my CV.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my husband, dabbling with art, reading good mystery books, and baking yummy desserts for other people to consume. I also created and maintain this website where I reflect about my experiences as a Christian, wife, and graduate student.
